First Day Of School

4th Grade & 6th Grade

Mom's Day Out
The kids are off to a running start this year. We were all ready to go back. We had a fun busy summer, but back to school is what this family needed. Kaylee is in 6th grade now, how time flies. She is doing great with homework, projects and gymnastics practice 5 day's a week.  Aubree is in her last year of elementary school, I'm so sad. Next year she will be off to the "big school". She has a small class of 16 this year and is off to a great start. She will be starting her tutoring classes, art class and swimming 2 nights a week. We decided we need more on our plate this year, so we added Ty to the mix. Although I think sending your children to school just to have a "Mom Day Out' is to soon, I was offered a job that I have turned down for a year, I finally took it. It is only 2 days a week and Ty is in the class next to me. Our paths cross a few times a day in the halls and he loves his teachers. I guess since I realize how time flies...Kaylee in 6th grade, I want to keep them little for as long a possible. Ty also started soccer this Saturday. Fun pictures to come.

Welcome Home

Family room.

View when walking in the front door.

Looking up stairs to the kids areas.

We love how bright this house is. We have tons of natural light. We love that we can see what is going on up stairs. Having the older kids and friends over I want a clear view. I have not gotten much decorated yet, but all the boxes are unpacked organized and put in its spot. After all this moving we have done over the last 12 we sure know what we needed it this home. Not so much luxury items just a special place for everyone. It was very hard the first night not hearing the kids move around in their rooms. Something about a small home gives me a sense of security. I hope to find that soon in this home.

Love my new kitchen so many counters for the kids to help me cook.

Wonderful eating area with the beautiful backyard to look out in.

The kids favorite place :)

My favorite spot in the morning.

We took out the formal living room and made it a 3rd car garage. So this is our cozy dining room.

Leo made Ty a very cool Fort Bed. the doors open up and he can play inside. Every boys dream.

Hang out room and family book shelf. Not sure what happened to the picture.

Kaylee's bathroom.
Kaylee picked the smaller room, so she would not have to share a bathroom with either of her siblings. So she ended up with a whole side of the house to her self. I have one smart cookie.

Master- just got a new mattress set that I love now we need a bed :) but this will work for now.

We Moved ....for good!

So excited to call this our NEW forever home.

This was the quickest we have ever unpacked. I think because we all new, we are not doing this again. It was very important to get the girls room all done. They each have been designing their own rooms for the past 3 years. I think they have a great eye.We have a few more touches on them, but for the most part they are done.

Kaylee picked Grey sparkle paint for her walls. A cool black ceiling fan and best of all her chandler.

Little splash of black decor.

Aubree wanted all shades of purple. She has the biggest room and closet out of all the kids. One lucky girl. Closet pictures to follow.
Over the last few months, I have been thinking about how I wanted to decorate our house. A few friends and I went to Canton for a big shopping day. I came across these really cool tables. They gave me a rustic California feel. So while we where waiting to close on the house, my mom and I needed a project...let's make this table. My mom never saw the table I wanted, I just drew it out and explained it to her. So of to buy the chalk pain and wax. It was raining that week also so we set up shop in the "rental house formal living room".
We started with an unfinished table and taped of the different sections.

A little wine, paint and waxing....

Done! So exciting to have made an unique piece with my Mom. This will be our new breakfast table for many years to come.

My grandparents antique love seat BEFORE

After. So exciting to just recover the bench and add new pillows, to make this something old new again
